NBSV 083: Mountaineer Jason Addy on being vegan since 1992, and his self-propelled mountain treks

Vegan mountaineer Jason Addy

Jason Addy is a mountaineer living in Powell River, BC. Vegan since 1992, he enjoys doing fully self-propelled mountaineering trips from home to home. I.e. from home to the mountain (usually on a bike), scaling said mountain, and then cycling back home. Jason is a life-long cyclist, and he’s currently writing a guidebook to the mountains north of Powell River.

Here’s our discussion:

Important topics and points you don't want to miss:

>> How Jason came to veganism (way back in 1992!)

>> What does "self-propelled" mean, and why is Jason drawn to it?

>> How does veganism relate to Jason's mountaineering? How have members of his guided trips responded to eating vegan while on treks?

>> Jason's current book project
